Berit.....I have 2001 Norton and Zone alarm and they have been working together with no problem at all for me. When I first purchased the Norton, I bought the disc and a few months later it missed a virus. The Norton folks helped me out and found that I had a defective disc. They helped me clear the virus and then gave me a free download of 2001. I was more than pleased with the customer service!!! I'd suggest (as their people told me) that when purchasing, you download from the site. You can get immediate help if there is a problem.

I have elected to update manually although I did have it set on automatic. I like doing some things manually because I feel better about how the software is working. For instance, with only a few exceptions, my Zone Alarm is set to ask me about everything that I open...as in, "Do you want (whatever) to have access to the internet." Some of the that old paranoia about whether something works if I can't "see" it.

I have seen where others have mentioned a problem, but I sure don't have one. I like both programs and feel the combination is hard to beat.
