I have had several attachments called somewhat like beanidiot.xls.lnk
I guess there are a lot of folks who don't recognise lnk as an executable. and the name wrap feature and hidden extensions can hide the clues.
I had a .doc recently from a very trusted guy with unknowed PC savvy so I saved it as a .txt and read it in FileView (HEX) and Editpad (=notepad).
It was all about MS paying for people to "pass this on". Hmmmmmmmm....... If I was not as paranoaic I would still not have fell for that one. I assume it was benign. and This is how I choose to pass it on.
