Regarding those who are a "hero for a day" and receive these deserved honors.......I think for some the daily routine of their lives is what allows them to maintain their sanity and the experiences of the many who've been subjected to the limelight for too long can sometimes be disastrous......people like Ira Hayes come to mind. Most believe as Crawford and view themselves as nothing special and the glare of the limelight is the last thing they want. Part of the honor we can pay these people is allowing them to be "normal."BTW, has anyone else read some of that into the movie, "The Legend of Bagger Vance?"....Good flick.
