Are you going to have transportation? The D.C. area is not blessed with the best public transportation system. I don't know what youlike to do but there is always the Smithsonian (I like the Aviation Museum) and the Hirshorn Art Musuem which is real nice (providing you are into the visual arts) but if its music, the Birchmere in Alexandria always has good folks, the Barns at Wolftrap in Vienna has "Roomfull of Blues" on the 5th and the very talented blueslady, Rory Block on the 11th. Now, if you want to observe and be part of history, there's Mario's Pizza just 3 miles into Virginia from Georgetown where there is an old black dude by the name of Joe who has run the joint since John Kennedy was president. Now, if you just want to knock down a few beers, the "Tombs" (also known as the 1789 Club) is one of the oldest beer joints in D.C. and has been a favorite of the Georgetown U. students fro some 50 years. If you like blue grass, you can find it everywhere since the Nation's Capital is the Bluegrass Capital of the World... Enjoy your visit and let us know how things turn out.
