I feel so privileged to have been in Tony's classes at Swannanoa Celtic Week in 1999. On Tony's night to lead the one hour song swap, after an hour & a half, I said "I hate to mention this because we want you to stay, but your hour was up a while ago." He knew the time & his obligations, and that he was having a good time... He stayed a total of 2 hours.

He seemed like someone who really enjoyed life, & shared that joy with others, especially the joy of music. His classes were fun, his conversation witty, he was open, friendly, generous, down to earth, played guitar like an angel, had a warm thick voice like mollasses. His solo recording is one of my favorites. He's going to make a fine addition to one or more of the "angel bands" up there...
