What about you?
- I love to listen to music. Folk, Classical, Baroque, Renaissance, Early, Jazz, Blues...
- I love to sing. Sea Chanteys especially, at the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton MD, 1st Tuesday of the month. (Except January 2002, because it's New Years Day)
- I love to listen to recordings of local (Wash DC area) artists, and attend their concerts. My favorite area artists include:
- Pyrates Royale Creating music and mayhem since 1987
- Ironweed (sadly now defunct, Craig Williams is with Pyrates, Don Stallone is with Ship's Company Chanteymen, Jody Marshall is with MoonFire
- Bruce Molsky If it's got strings on it, the man can play the hell out of it. Fiddle, especially.
- Darcy Nair AKA Kat Fairbanks of Pyrates Royale. Hammered dulcimer never sounded so fair.
- Bob Zentz A Chanteyman's Chantey singer
- Jay Summerour and Warner Williams "Hey Bartender, There's a Big Bug in my Beer" just sets me off!
- The entire House of Musical Traditions. The best source for folk music anywhere. (I Know HMT is not a musician in itself, but a great place to find 'em, in the racks and behind the counter.)
- The aforementioned Ship's Company Chanteymen. Their debut CD "Donkey Riding" will be out "any day now". I am particularly partial to the Chanteymen (and woman) as they are a scion of my reenctment group, Ship's Company
- Non Local Artists (Folk and otherwise)
- Leon Redbone!. I am his BIGGEST fan! Bordering on obsession, my web page devoted to Leon was used as a refrence by the Internet Move Database where they used my fictionalized version of Leon's Biography to give his birthdate.
- Mystic Seaport's resident Chanteymen Forebitter
- Ottopasuuna. This Finnish folk group has no web site, best I can give you is a Google Search
- Bobby McFerrin. Who needs instuments when you have a voice like his?
- Harry Connick Jr. Bringing style back to vocal music.
- Michael Feinstein Classy vocals
- Kiri Te Kanawa. Damn, one sweet singing Dame!
