900 Miles evokes a time and a mystique for me almost like no other song. It's a "GUY song ---a hobo song that reeks of lonliness as well as the romance of the rauks. The minor key does it for me. Minor chords set a feeling like no other blend of notes -- get me ready for the tale to be told and when the story lives up to the melody's pathos, it's just about perfect.
500 Miles, is a wimpy, non inspiring little pop time waster with a lyric that is, at best, ambiguous and unsatisfyinjg.
