We took the Pres. of the Press Room to a Canajun' style music party tonight. She met a few of the Toronto stalwarts and sang a couple of songs her ownself including a beautiful effort called Shine like a Diamond, which had a couple of folks thinking it was old, old old! She got a chance to hear Howard Kaplan do an original "counting ballad" that had to be heard to be believed. A knowledge of groundhog dentistry would have helped! We had a chance to wish Grit Laskin all the best as he was arriving as we were heading off into the night. Grit has just built a brand new mandolin that is to drool for. Takes a LOT of drool to afford one though!
Well what's in store for our guest tomorrow? Heather has suggested a visit to the zoo....but I want her at the 12th Fret so I can talk her into buying a 37 string Kafoozalum, which I hear is on sale for a measly 78 thousand dollars (12.50 Yankee bucks)
Don't worry Press Room folks...we'll send her back in one piece.
Cheers
Rick
