Your chords work great.
I will almost always use a diminished chord in place of a minor, if to my ears it improves or enhances the sound of the melody line. Minor chords are sometimes a little too "plain vanilla" sounding for my ears.

The jazzy chords I put above, probably sound better on the piano - and I was working from the piano as a reference point at the time. They'd have to be voiced in just the right way on the guitar to work and more likely sound better with a bass player accompanying. I wouldn't necessarily play the song with those chords everytime, but rather would alternate them through each pass of the song and over any solos being played in say a group/ensemble situation.
