Hi, Rick:

Maybe I'll start at $8,999/ People are always looking for bargains.
And, not to knock the uke, I started out on a ukelele, myself. You've never heard anything if you didn't hear me hammer out a booming version of the Theme from High Noon, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My darling. I must have been ten or eleven when I bought my first musical instrument... a uke. Played it with a felt pick. I used to buy sheet music and it always had the uke chords on there, back in the 40's. There are still some songs, like Shine On Harvest Moon that ARE uke songs. Or, All I Do Is Dream Of You The Whole Day Through.. One of these days, I'll do Harvest Moon on ukelele and start a revival.
And, when you speak about ukelele's you have to remember Tiny Tim. Back in the 60's I split an evening at the Fat Black Pussy Cat in Greenwich Village, three ways. Me, Tiny Tim and Richie Havens (doing Butcher Boy on bongos.) Me doing Bandit Cole Younger as nasal as air coming out of a tire, Richie making an old English ballad sound like it came from the Islands, and Tiny off in space somehere.
