Celebrating with some friends - four other couples. Played some tunes, sang some of the old songs and made sure all the Yanks there knew about "first foot" and had appropriate goodies - then consumed mass quantities of them. Relations of the hosts of the party called from Glasgow about 7:30 PM - 5 hours ahead of us - absolutely smashed. Wished us all a Happy New Year, and then said they were falling behind in the drinking -

I'm functioning now, as is the lovely lady wife - don't know about the hostess. She had a VERY good time. I think she finally realized why we threw parties on New Years at OUR house.... no driving afterward!
