I'd posted about this for Big Mick in Jeri's thread, but thought it might be better if it had a thread of its own as Big Mick has said there might be some interest in getting a few of ya'll out here for this, even if I've moved away by then! Sorcha will still be here, anyway, and I can always come back for a visit! Here is the site for the Wyoming Celtic Festival thanks to Sorcha. There's not a lot of info, yet. I will email them with a link to this thread, for encouragement.:-)
Here is the blurb which was in Sunday's paper:
"Organisers of the first Wyoming Celtic Festival and Games say the inaugural event could draw 10,000 people on July 6.
"The idea began a few years ago when Dave McElhiney started playing the bagpipes. McElhiney is now the core of a band hat has grown to 21 people.
"Besides bagpiping, the festival at Cam-Plex Park will include men in kilts (Oooohhhh!) and caber-throwing. A caber is a long, heavy pole that is thrown end over end as a test of strength.
"There will also be folk bards and a Celtic rock band.
"McElhiney hopes the games will become an annual event that lasts for several days. His group is already working on getting sponsors."
Soooo....what say you? Shall we have a 2002 Mudcat Invasion??!!!
