English chippies have been adapting to immigrant cuisines for many years.... when I was a student, chips with curry sauce were very popular.

If I remember rightly, the Chinese takeaway at Bromyard is (was?) called the Shun Fat, which always seemed an amazing contradiction for a Chinese takeaway...
