You cannot "gently lift" a sleeping hamster without most likely getting bitten! Anyway, it would ruin the image.

Being a person who is desperately eager to please everyone at all times, I feel obliged now to ask Pene to remove my silly thread, and then go out and get some fresh air and sunshine...but I can't, because other people have advised me to do otherwise! What to do...what to do...?

I've just had a brainwave! I can keep the hamster somnolent by lowering the temperature in the house. Hamsters hibernate in cooler temperatures. I'm going to turn the furnace off and open all the windows. Be right back!
