As I was driving over Legacy Drive in Plano
I met with officer Johnson and his radar he was shooting.
I first produced my license, and then my insurance,
he said "Why you drive so fast? Do you know how fast you're going?
"Fifty-six in a forty zone."

I called upon the courthouse to enquire about my ticket
I stood in line forever with the hope they would dismiss it.
How quickly then they told about defensive driving
they said "You can sign up for a class and then we will discharge it.
"But only if you pass."

So I went into the classroom for to take my lesson,
It was drivers ed all over without the gory pictures.
I listened to the teacher, while fighting off a slumber
and when the final test came 'round I hoped I had the number
to muster a passing grade.

So once more I am driving over Legacy Drive in Plano
thinking about the class I took and how much I remember.
But my foot is getting heavy, and my speed is increasing,
and to meet with Officer Johnson again it sure would not be pleasing.
