Recently I have been downloading heaps of Mp3s from grokster, of loads of my favourite singers that I don't have access to their music ( i.e. I can't buy their albums). When I downloaded two Nancy Griffith songs "I knew Love" from the album who's name escapes me at the moment and "Gulf Coast Highway"which came from the same album, but the downloaded version was obviously from a later period. The first one was as I remember her, that waif-like voice that differentiated her from other country singers ( who remembers New Country?) and the second version, to my horror she was warbling along just like Dolly Parton, with that exagerrated downhome-chitlins and grits type of voice that turned me off country music. My question is...how many other singers voices have changed over time?
