Barbara and I didn't get a chance to watch Northern Exposure very regularly when it was on the network, but when A&E stripped it, I taped it (came on early in the day), then Barbara and I watched it in the evenings. We really got into the show. Then, as the last episode came to its conclusion, on comes Iris Dement singing Our Town. The first time we'd ever heard it. Talk about getting choked up. . . .

I went through a sticky patch a few years back, and one song that I found really hard to listen to was Gordon Bok's Turning Toward the Morning. Still gets to me.
