Thank you everyone for such a great response. My "boy" is a beautiful Golden Retriever ... he gets walked 5 miles daily. (you're right Jen Ellen ... dogs are great for exercise!) He never leaves the property .. until he hears a car coming down our dead end street. I'm beginning to think it is a territorial thing. He's very obedient, comes when he's called etc etc, it's just every once in awhile he gets a notion to chase cars. He's going to live at the end of a rope for a while until I can afford a fence.
