Susan D-R:According to what I posted on the other thread and from what I've read on a cd by Gustav Santaolalla, "Ronroco", and heard in an interview of him on NPR, they are all generally called charangas (their spelling); ronrocos and something else which I can't remember seem to be a subspecies of charangas; the difference is size.
The Andean instruments are beautiful, aren't they? The info I pasted in the other thread really is pretty interesting. Sorry to keep "harping" on it!
