Well, Matthew B., some of the songs I used to sing mine involved a lot of murder ballads and tons of unrequited love, so they weren't exactly apropros either. "East Virginia" and "Black is the Color" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" wouldn't pass the Lullabye Approval Board, but my kids seemed soothed by them.
