From the site about What's Happening Around Town here in Charlottesville, this just popped up, thought anybody nearby might find it interesting:

Lift Every Voice: Music in American Life
The University of Virginia Library exhibition, on display in the McGregor Room of Alderman Library, celebrates four centuries of vocal music and its vital role in American life. The exhibition highlights patriotic songs, hymns and spirituals, minstrels and musicals, protest songs, and 1960s rock and roll. Sheet music, songbooks, broadsides, posters, photos, and recorded music help to tell the story of America's triumphs and trials through the voices of its people. For more information, call (434) 243-8969. (University of Virginia Library).

I'm going to try to go on Sunday, when I think the exhibit starts (I didn't see an end date but I'd be amazed if it were only one day). I think I'll call the # and see what the deal is, but here you are in the meantime.
