Thanks for the above. This month's National Geographic has a beautiful picture of Etna erupting at night with the lights of Catania spread out below. The job is somewhere near there. I haven't been able to find it on a map and the woman I spoke to says it has a lovely small town feel so it must be very small.

We are busily researching everything we can find on the web and in the library and bookstores. I am working with a woman who just returned from working for two years in northern Italy and is desperately searching for a way to get back there.
