I've just been to see the film "Iris", about Iris Murdoch. Pretty good, though I've my doubts about Kate Winslett's being cast as the youngish Iris. (Judy Dench was brilliant as her when she gets older, and when she is falling into Alzheimer's.)
But what's got me puzzled is the song which plays a key part in the film - both Irises sing it pretty well. With the key line "in the clear light of the day", and the words credited to Ferguson or Fergusson.
Anyway, I assumed Google would throw up the song, if I entered the phrase and the name, but no luck. (In fact when I entered the phrase, it came up with one of my own songs, from my own website, which indicates that it must have done a pretty thorough hunt of what is up on the net.)
I've got a distinct feeling the tune was used by Vaughan Williams.
Anyway, can anyone come up with the words? It's a great song and a lovely tune.
