I know that unmarried mothers were sectioned to mental hospitals (particularly in upper class families) and I am aware that sterilistion has been advocated on occasion by eugenicists, but I am unaware that Britain ever had any official policy of "compulsory" sterilisation and would still like to see the evidence that such a policy was ever implemented, clandestinely or openly.
