we never had a marriage proposal between us ... we were kids and talked about marriage and what we wanted our life to be, and what we wanted from marriage, and what we loved about each other ... and when we were practicing sex while experimenting with birth control (apparently we had it backwards) ... the pregnancy led our conversations to discussions with parents and hard plans for married life. We married at semester break. I finished out Freshman year of college. Our eldest was born about the same time school ended and the rest is history. That was 31+ years ago, and I'd do it all over again in a heart beat.
