I am interested in getting hold of a Sony ECMDS70P stereo mic. for a minidisc recorder. It costs £130 ($200) in the UK. But it can be found for $52 to $75 (excluding tax & shipping) in the US. I could buy it over the internet, shipping would be about $25. But on arrival in the UK it would also be subject to import duty and tax. Tax would be £10 ($15) but import duty is a bit of an unknown factor, maybe £15 ($25)bringing cost to about £75 ($120) saving £55 ($80), in theory if it works at all!!! Is it worth it or is it too risky? Anyone in UK had any experience? Anyone know what the import duty rate is?
