Snowing a bit, kind of off and on here (Seattle).Kendall, you call that wind? Well, around here in the Great Pacific Northwest, our standard wind-gauge is a heavy log chain attached to an iron pole sunk deep into the ground. If the wind whips the log chain around a bit, that's nothin'. If it lashes it around, cracking like a whip and snapping links off, well . . . probably ruffle your hair a bit. But if the log chain stands there motionless in a perfectly horizontal position, then you can expect it might get a little breezy before nightfall.
