Thanks to you all for the ideas thus far. This is beginning to sound like fun. We will be renting a car, so we can go where we want. My DH (dear husband) and I like birds and geology as well as music, so we find that renting a car is the best way to tour. So few trains get into the woods, along the cliffs or up to spectactular outcrops.I'm saving all your suggestions, so keep them coming.
We also like religious events as well as traditional, having gone to more than one Gymanfa Ganu in our lives.
Bron: what kind of tunes do you play at your sessions? We play Welsh traditional tunes picked up at workshops-- Nyth a Gog, Rachel Dafyd Ivan, Gwcw Fach, Ty Coch and Chwi Fechgyn Glan Fri, to name some favorites. Are those tunes well known?
Last Friday we played 10 minutes' worth of these tunes at a harp & flute recital. Since they followed an hour (or more) of unremittingly delicate classical music, the crowd went wild. How gratifying it was!
