Thread Name: Review: The Man From God Knows Where (Tom Russell)
Subject: 'THE MAN FROM GOD KNOWS WHERE'
In March of 1999, I received an advanced copy of Tom Russell"s "The Man From God Knows Where". From the very first listening I was convinced that this was one of the best Folk Albums to come over the pike in quite some time. In June of that same year Tom and his guitar player Andrew Hardin performed in concert here at the Toledo Folk Music Club and he was magnificent. At that time some Mudcatters said it was a fine album and were quite impressed with Tom Russell. Some said it wasn't a "true" Folk Album...To each his own in interpretations.....I listen to this album over and over and my enthusiasm never diminishes....For those who haven't experienced this amazing CD do yourself a great favor and get a copy...You will be amazed.....It was released in 1999 on the Hightone Label...HCD8099...76 plus minutes of absolute enjoyment.
