I used to smoke and have every intention of starting again when I retire - cigars and black twist pipe tobaco preferably. Just to annoy everyone! I drink a fair bit though cannot now manage the gallon of beer a night I used to do once. I find four pints or a bottle of wine twice a week more than enough. Anyhow - point is I have no axe to grind with either. Good luck to the smokers and drinkers who manage to keep healthy especialy. What really bugs me is that I drive about 30k miles a year. I worry about all the crap that my engine is pumping into the air but cannot see a viable alternative at the moment. I cannot understand the non-smoking or non-drinking drivers who gloat. As far as I can see the infernal combustion engine is doing far more harm than either.
As I said I drive a lot myself. I have to for work. But it doesn't stop me feeling guilty! I could stop driving of course but that would mean me packing in my job and an extemely severe curtailment of lifestyle for me and my family. And I just don't feel that guilty:-(
The point is...?
Dunno really. Just wanted to share.
