I was raised by parents who both smoked a lot AND drank a lot. If I could go back and change only ONE behavior, it would be the drinking; that's what led to all the really unhappy and neurotic family crap. Of course I'd rather that they could have quit smoking, too, because it would have meant longer lives for both of them and more time together for all of us -- but if they had been drinking their normal quantities, the added time wouldn't have been any favor to anyone.PS. "vs" is usually spelled as above, not with an apostrophe. It comes from latin, from the verb "verto" to turn, so it means turned towards or against. Same derivation as reverse, inverse, diverse, etc.
