Thread Name: Help: Info on Judy Henski, 'Oh, G-L-O-R-Y ...
Subject: Info on Judy Henski, 'Oh, G-L-O-R-Y ...'
In the "Wanted: Songs for Alcoholics!" thread, Guest Hutzul mentioned "Judy Henski's Salvation Army Song G-L-O-R-Y I'm S-A-V-E-D I'm so H-A-P-P-Y To be F-R-Double E F-R-Double E From the ways of S-I-N Glory, glory, hallaluya Tra la la, Amen." I have made several vain attempts over the last couple of years to figure out who if anyone wrote the thing, which I perform frequently in AA meetings (or what pass for AA meetings where I go to meetings), including requests here at Mudcat, and so far nobody has ever come up with anything, so seeing this was very exciting to me.

Does anybody have any further information on the connection between Judy Henski and "my" Salvation Army Song, or on Ms. Henski or the song separately? A Google search on her name turns up two brief mentions, one in a page on the 1960s TV show Hootenanny:
Other groups on the shows were The Chad Mitchell Trio, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys, Judy Collins (who was an "item" with Mike Kubla at the time), Judy Henski, Glen Yarbough and probably some others I've forgotten in the intervening years."

- Best regards, Larry Benson

and one in a Japanglish webpage entitled
ACID FOLKIE:
Judy Henski and Jarry Yester / Farewell Ardeballan

Release date :1969(Straight STS 1052)
Review : J.Yester was the member of M.F.Q. and the producer of T.Buckley. He maid a complex psychedelic sound album with his wife, J.Henski who was a femail singer.

Additional information would be most welcome.
