John - don't feel bad about preferring revival singers. Here in the UK, most source singers were past their prime by the time they were collected (just look at the notes for the Voice of the People series).

Doug Bailey, who runs Wild Goose Studios (which produced The Amber Triangle) isn't particularly into source singers (and he's recording for the joy of it not for a living), but he has recorded Roy Harris and Mick Ryan (and me, so I'd better confess an interest here).

Moira Craig was discovered by Jerry Epstein at the launch of the Roy Harris CD and has since toured the US - she's a great singer especially of Scottish songs but sings contemporary songs too. Graham Metcalf isn't just a vocalist but has recorded "Songs from Yorkshire and other civilisations".

To add to Dick's list of British revival voices; Ron Taylor, Eileen Pratt (both of Regal Slip, although Ron was also in the Songwainers).
