in response to Mr Red, Cardiff isn't as dead as he thinks it is, there is plenty available, just got to do a little scratching at the surface to find out about it all.

- there are at least two sessions that I know of at the mo... -------------------------------------------- One on a Thursday night, the other a alternative Monday night. But I can't remember the name of the pub on the Thursday. There is plenty of sessions and music in Cardiff - it's just that usually they are word of mouth, and sporadic or fairly quiet affairs.

I organise a monthly session in Newport on the first friday of the month - and there are a fair few sessions in the area too.

So, there is music there if you search enough... tut tut, such a big sweeping statement.

If I can get my memory back I will post the place names of the sessions. Plus there is usually alot of music to be found at the Norwegian Church and the St. Donats arts centre. Try Taplas, that's the best contact to get you started around the Cardiff area.

BBC Club not really an event really - more of a sporadic thing, and is accessable to others. (well I have got in - so must let anyone in... tee hee)

Blackwood miners institute hosts lots of music events, and even does a guitar workshop on a regular basis. Plus there's the Beaufort theatre in the Valleys that has some pretty good gigs too.

THere's a folk club in Monmouth (cant remember the day - possibly Mondays???) and various sporadic sessions all over Monmouthshire (just ask at the venues and clubs, people will generally be willing to let you know of some further happenings.

Ahhh could go on and on... but I think that's enough for now.

Regards

Ella
