I remember my first encounter with Martin Carthy, I asked some erudite question and got a succinct response and found with the next person he was gabbling away about the relative merits of shoes! IN A FOLK CLUB! Feet of clay obviously and when a man lives and breaths Folk he has to have a distraction.
As the 'Cat spreads & develops and attention wanders when do we worry about the loss of focus on the main thrust? I started a thread on a dance and got one response that I sort of pre-empted through PM. Very folky and musical. I intend start another on a specific hangover cure and I anticipate many more replies. BUT is it Folk? probably. BUT is it music?
