Sounds to me like its the soundboard rather than the "plastic round back!" The soundboard is almost cirtainly plywood. I have a fiberglass roundback guitar with a solid tonewood soundboard, Its a dream. I use it for gigs, and recording,-people are always commenting how good it sounds. I think top end Ovation guitars have solid tops. You only get what you pay for. John.
