It's been suggested to me, when I've done this, that it's a good idea to copy the opening post from the original thread into the opening poist of the part 2. That seems a good idea to me, and it only takes a few more seconds..

The thing about long threads is that's it's not just an inconvenience of it taking a long time to load - for some people a long thread just will not load. So they can't open up Part 1 at all, once it's stretched out long enough to get a Part 2. "What's all this about?"...
