A while ago, I wrote to this forum that if a hockey ref did what the French figure skating judge did, there would be bloodshed. Well, it didn't happen last night. I have never seen such guts in sports in my life. Way to go girls, you didn't just win, you did it with ultimate composure and class.

Before anyone gets toooo upset over the "flag on the floor", the US Team has explained that it was there in the middle of the floor of the locker room as a reminder that the Canadians were always "right there, one step behind them". Of course, they were also instructed never to walk on the flag, as a sign of respect. I believe it was placed on the floor because they had no tape in their HOCKEY equipment to place it any higher. Just like I believe that the US referee did not give Canada ANY penalties which were not deserved. And, finally, I also believe that the US referee was assigned to officiate this game because there are only three women refs in the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD... right ? In summary, Canada won fair and square.
