Oops! You got me, Steve! I meant to say the only sport that was played by indigenous people. Basketball was of course invented by Ontario native James Naismith in 1891 at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts. I don't know whose idea it was to take the bottoms out of the peach baskets, though!
