Beamish Black Beamish, brewers of the only Irish stout brewed exclusively in Ireland, changed the taste, name and look of its 'black stuff' in August 1997, with the launch of Beamish Black. The new product follows extensive research which showed that consumers were looking for a creamier, less bitter aftertaste, and consequently the new product is more in tune with 90s drinkers - smoother, easier to drink and representing today's modern Ireland.

So marketing did ruin another product...
