Too bad I'm not still stationed at Bolling AFB, I could give you the grand tour. "This is an airplane that doesn't fly. That's a building we can't go into. There's the river and the airport's on the other side" - that sort of thing. It would have been thrilling. I even knew the social workers there because they worked just down the hall, although there are probably fresh faces now. 1997 was a long time ago, military-wise.

I regret that I waited until right before I left to take the Metro anywhere. (I parked in a garage that was locked at midnight when I went to see Les Miserables, got a ride home and had to use the Metro to pick up my car the next day.) It was clean, I felt safe, and I understood the route signs a lot more than I did the London "Tubes."
