I was a Platoon Sergeant for a Mechanized Infantry Unit in the late 70's. I used to get so pissed at the people who were supposed to know what was going on. My men would be ragged assed tired and we still wouldn't have accomplished what we needed to because someone screwed up. I had this tall gangly Rifleman - had an Adam's Apple like the cartoon character from Sleepy Hollow - Ichabod Crane? He'd just diddy bop up and say, "This too shall pass Sgt. Neff - This too shall pass." And he was right. We'd buckle for our dust and get the job done.
