Fiddler Magazine has developed a small following in my area, but I don't really know how widely it circulates. It appears to be a well managed rag, and touches a fairly wide range of musical styles.

The current (Spring) issue includes a "bio" on Seamus Connolly, an article on "Afro-Cuban Salsa Fiddling," a "bio" on Gilles Apap and his group "Colors of Invention," a "historical" report on "Fox Hunt" Charlie Bowman, an article on Anton Tesla - with some interesting notes on Russian "Gypsy Stage" music, and a brief article on Bobby Horton. About a half-dozen tune scores are typical for an issue.

They have a web site at www.fiddler.com, but as of this afternoon the Spring issue had not been posted.

Not a commercial - but it seems only fair to cite the source, and I don't know how well known they are.
