Re the "Vagina Monologues": here in Connecticut not too long ago, a billboard along a major highway advertised this play. One of our enlightened state legislators, of the Male persuasion of course, was so deeply shocked and offended by the public display of that WORD, that he introduced a bill to ban such advertising in close proximity to highways. Thought it might cause accidents due to lascivious distraction of drivers. Plus, *children* might see it! Evidently this representative doesn't get out much & believed that "Vagina" is a Dirty Word. Which, come to think of it, sort of symbolizes the whole problem, doesn't it? Fortunately the legislature decided to punt, and the bill died in the Committee on Unconstitutional Proposals by Idiots.
