montreal has a lot of beautiful parts.

the old city id like going to europe, just go south on st laurent and hang a left and you will hit it.

st laurant is also an interesting area. i rarely miss the old jewish eateries on "the main" as st laurant is called. the main deli or schwartz"s have great smoked meat and many other goddies very cheap.

these are walking distance from the old city.

there used to be five sessions in montreal but i'm out of touch. some are doing quebecois music so the tunes may be dfferent to most, but the fiddle music is great. papizian had a greqat session on st. laurent but i hear he moved to nova scotia.

i find st joeseph's oratory to be one of the most impressive churches in north america, and in a smaller way so is notre dame in old montreal--if you are into churches.

my cousin used to be in a cajan band there but he last said that the scene was not busy. there are a slew of great hurdy gurdy palyers in montreal so you might search that on the net for montreal. daniel thineau(sp?) lives near by and he's great.

other than that i usually visit friends but there must be more cool stuff other than the strip bars.

most all of this stuff is within walking distance--including china town between the main area and old montreal.

so good luck
