The one at ljc's click-on is also from Scarce Songs 1, and with a fouled up history at the click-on. At the click-on the tune is that for "Maggie Lauder", from Chambers' 'The Songs of Scotland Prior to Burns' (1862) not Chambers' 'The Songs of Scotland' (1829), where no tune was given. Also there was an error. The copy of 1723 in Scarce Songs 1 is from "A Collection of Old Ballads', not Evans' 'Old Ballads'. Chambers' song is one that first appeared in vol. 1 of the 1740 edition of Ramsay's 'Tea Table Miscellany'.
