Spaw, others, look into some of the work Barry Sears has done on diet and disease. His Zone diet books make a lot of sense. We wouldn't put just any medicine into our mouths without knowing what it is for or what the side effects are, yet we eat food (especially the processed stuff) without any thought to what it does to our bodies. Insulin, carbohydrates, fruits and veggies, protein, they're all subjects we should know more about.
