For those of you who read fantasy literature:
My son Murray has a short story (his first professional sale) in an anthology entitled "Realms of Shadow", in the Forgetten Realms series published by Wizards of the Coast. He just received his contributors' copies (the courier arrived right in the middle of this message!), so it will be in the stores soon.
This is rather a big deal, as my kid's story will be in bookstores all over the English-speaking world. The advance paid a good chunk of this year's university tuition. Also, the company commissioned a novel on the strength of his story; he's writing it now, and it'll be published next year. It may also have opened the doors for a full-time writing job when his university year is finished.
So I guess I can exult a little.
