Sorry if this is off-topic, but I thought that here I'd find people who record music and speak English, not the Japanese in which Sony apparently writes its manuals.

According to my MZ-R700's manual, to wipe the blank Track 1 I've managed to record on a disc, I should press ENTER (EDIT) till the track is selected, then press MENU (flip the lever towards ---> or <---), then when EDIT flashes repeatedly, press ENTER (ENTER) again.

At this stage you're supposed to flip the lever (what lever? I don't see any lever) towards ---> or <--- until "Erase" flashes in the display, then press ENTER.

Now, this is all Geek to me, but I worked out most of it by guessing which buttons to press. But "ERASE" doesn't appear, just "ALL ERASE", which I guess (but who knows) may mean "erase all tracks".

Does anyone know how to actually erase one track only?
