Bugger, bugger, bugger! After congratulating myself for being able to fix my old turntable (remember, I can play anything, but can't fix nuthin!) I'm now confronted with this.My pretty new JVC double cassette deck (which I use a lot with students) is 'fluttering and wowing' like crazy. It worked great for a year, recording and playing back quite accurately, but now the sounds seems very wavery. This happens whether I'm using a pre-recorded cassette or whether I've recorded one from the mike. From this, I assume it's the playback mechanism.
So.....any help would be appreciated.
Does it mean the motor (whatever that is) is shot?
There's some adjustment even I might be able to handle?
I have to take it to a repairman and spend most of the price of the machine itself?
I gotta buy a new one?
bugger, bugger, bugger!
